Z-fold Card

This week's workshop wow is the Z-fold card. This is such a fun and easy fold! Start with a 4 1/4" X 11" piece of cardstock. Score at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2". The front folds back on itself.
To add the wow factor to my card, I used the new cog punch and smooch spritz. The cog punch is a double punch in that it punches twice to get both the cogs and holes to punch out. It punches the holes first and then the cog shape. The punched pieces come from inside the punch instead of out through the bottom.
To create the corner pieces, I started with the photo corner and then layered on the cogs. I sprayed both the corners and cogs with Gold Foil smooch spritz and then Log Cabin smooch spritz on top. I also sprayed both colors onto the card itself.
Supplies (all SU): Stamps: Loads of Love, Loads of Love Accessories; Paper: Confetti White, Sahara Sand, Riding Hood Red, Not Quite Navy, Basic Gray; Ink: Jet Black StazOn; Accessories: watercolor crayons, aquapainter, cog punch, chipboard, jumbo brad, Basic Gray taffeta ribbon, photo corner punch, Gold Foil and Log Cabin smooch spritz

Stitched felt Z-fold card

Sorry I didn't post on Wednesday; I totally forgot!  I'd even made this card already.  It's another Z-fold card.  If you only look at the left side, it looks pretty good.  The sentiment and ribbon are way too far from the edge on the right!  But I'd already done the left side, and I'm not wasting all of that good stuff!
The vase is made with the ornament punch.  I let the punch do the work for me by placing the cardstock so it didn't go all the way into the punch.  Then I used a sponge dauber to add some champagne shimmer paint.  I pulled it lightly across so it would just emphasize the texture on the cardstock.
I used the cutter kit to cut the curved cardstock for my stem, and then I added the Sweet Pea stitched felt.  I used mono multi adhesive to make sure the felt is not going anywhere!

Z-fold card

For this week's demonstratable card challenge, I asked everyone to make a Z-fold card. To make the Z-fold card, you cut a piece of cardstock 4 1/4" X 11", score at 5 1/2" then score the front of the card at 2 3/4" and fold it forward to make the Z. Normally you leave it loose, but I decided to tie ribbon around mine. The Soft Suede mat is 3 13/16" (before punching) which is the perfect size for the scallop trim punches. The Rich Razzleberry mat is 3 1/8" and I stamped on a 3" Very Vanilla piece.
On the back part of the card, I punched the scallop trim corner punch on both corners then used the horizontal slot punch to make little slots for my mat to fit in to hold the card closed.
I got the color combo (Kraft, Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede) from Jenn Diercks' blog.

Got my new stuff!

My new stuff came today! Whoohoo!! I didn't have a lot of time, but I just had to make something. Thankfully, it only took about 5 minutes to mount my stamps since they are die cut. I wanted to use this branch from Eastern Blooms and my new Urban Garden paper, so I decided to make a Z fold card. I embellished the card with embossed flowers and a little ribbon knot.
Supplies (all SU): Stamps: Eastern Blooms; Paper: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Basic Gray, Urban Garden DSP; Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy; Accessories: ticket corner punch, double rectangle punch, Flower Frenzy classy brass template, Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla satin ribbon
It's Virtual Stamp Night at SCS this weekend, so check it out!
