Masculine valentine?

I attempted to make a masculine Valentine. Is this card too feminine? Let me know what you think! The color combo is Cameo Coral, Ruby Red and Chocolate Chip. To keep the ribbon clean-looking, I adhered it after cutting a V in the end instead of tying a knot or bow.
Supplies (all SU): Stamps: Love You Much, Teeny Tiny Words; Paper: Cameo Coral, Ruby Red; Ink: Cameo Coral, Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red; Accessories: scallop trim punch, word window punch, modern label punch, blender pen, Chocolate Chip satin ribbon

Reusable Sweet Centers card

This card uses the new Sweet Centers stamp set and Sweet Treats cups from the Holiday Mini. I found the most awesome idea here for making a card where you can refill the cup later. I took his idea and changed the card a bit. I don't really care much about Halloween but still wanted a card with a bit of a masculine look. I took my color combo from the candy. I was thinking you could also use the pull-out piece as a bookmark when you are done with the card.

Stampin' Success sketch

One of the benefits of being a SU demonstrator is that we get a great magazine, Stampin' Success, every month. This was the sketch from the most recent magazine. I changed the size of the circles; they used 1/2" circles, but I wanted to use the heart from Love You Much which is 3/4". Since I have Bermuda Bay ink now (Hooray!), I wanted to use that color for sure. The color combo is Bermuda Bay, Old Olive, and Summer Sun. A little border or ribbon would be a great additional touch to step the card up.

Love You Much swap # 6

Last, but certainly not least, is this spinner card by Jane Walker. I've never seen a spinner done on just a card front before. The spinners I've done go through the entire card front while this one doesn't. I can't wait to try it!
As you read this, I'm flying home. Whoohoo! I did take some stamping stuff with me as I have a swap due soon. Can't wait to get back to stamping and posting.

Love You Much swap # 5

This beauty was created by Renee Nelson. I love the way the punch is used on this one! You could line the inside with a contrasting DSP or stamp the coordinating stamp on the inside.

Love You Much swap # 4

Today's card was created by Stacey Miller. I love the use of the Top Note die, and there's glitter on the big heart!

Love You Much swap # 3

Today's card comes from Angie Pegram. Care to guess what I love most about it? If you know me at all, you know the answer is the color purple. I think the Lovely Lilac really makes the other colors pop! She also used my all-time favorite punch--the ticket corner punch.

Love You Much swap # 2

I only have the SCS name of this swapper: Meginma. I love the addition of the Night of Navy, and you know I'm a fan of this medallion using the scallop border punch. The addition of the gel pen dots is nice!

Love You Much swap # 1

I'm traveling the next two weeks for work (I have to go to Southern California. Don't you feel sorry for me? LOL), so I'll be sharing swaps I received using the recent Love You Much bundle. For this swap, we had to use the Love You Much stamp set, Candy Lane DSP and the Heart to Heart punch. I am amazed at the variety in the swaps I received! Everyone did a wonderful job! First up is this lovely card by Tracy Riekenberg. I love the layout and the creative use of the punch.

Love You Much swap card

Happy 2009! Hope you all had a safe holiday.
Here is the card I made for a Love You Much swap. We had to use all 3 elements of the Love You Much bundle (stamp set, DSP, punch) and have at least 3 layers.
The card base is Close to Cocoa with a 2 1/2" piece of Riding Hood Red on top. I stamped it with Itty Bitty Backgrounds using VersaMark. Then I punched the Heart to Heart punch in the right corner of the red layer only. I then punched a piece of Candy Lane DSP and used 2 way glue to adhere the 2 larger hearts into the openings on the red cardstock. I used the white gel pen to outline the 3rd heart punch. I covered the seam on the card with Pink Pirouette striped grosgrain ribbon.
For the focal image, I cut a 2 3/4" square of Chocolate Chip textured cardstock and used the scallop border punch on all 4 sides. I did the same thing to a 2 1/2" square of Very Vanilla to get the top layer. I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to center the stamped image onto the Very Vanilla layer. I stamped the same stamp onto more Candy Lane DSP using Riding Hood Red ink and then cut out the bird bodies and adhered them onto the Very Vanilla piece. It's amazing how much dimension that adds IRL!
The thing I like about this card is that I used the DSP in unusual ways. I'm trying to think outside the box more. Hopefully, I'll be able to do that with layouts too! LOL
Supplies (all SU): Stamps: Love You Much, Itty Bitty Backgrounds; Paper: Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip textured; Candy Lane DSP; Ink: Riding Hood Red, VersaMark; Accessories: Heart to Heart punch, scallop border punch, white gel pen, Pink Pirouette striped grosgrain ribbon

Using scraps

This week's challenge was to use scraps. I added the challenge of using designer paper scraps and using the DSP in an unusual way, not just as a layer.
My card is actually a challenge trifecta! I used Patty's sketch from last week, my scrap challenge this week, and last Friday's 3-D challenge, which is Angie Tieman's paper rosette. Additionally, the cardfront is the only cardstock that was not from my scrap pile!
Supplies (all SU): Stamps: Love You Much; Paper: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Pacific Point, Muirfield DSP; Ink: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss; Accessories: Baja Breeze striped grosgrain ribbon, blender pen, white gel pen

More Love You Much

This is the first card I made using the new stamp set and DSP. I think it was for one of Beate's sketch challenges. Notice that I stamped 2 of the images right onto the DSP. It's a great look that I don't often think of doing. I colored in the word Love with the white gel pen.
Supplies (all SU): Stamps: Love You Much; Paper: Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red, Candy Lane DSP; Ink: Basic Brown; Accessories: white gel pen, Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon, 1" & 1 1/4" circle punches

Love You Much sneak peek!

I made this card for my training buddy, Alyssa, for her 25th birthday last weekend. It uses a new stamp set and DSP from the upcoming catalog! The stamp set is called Love You Much, and the DSP is called Candy Lane. There is also a 3-heart punch that coordinates with a stamp in the set!
SU is offering these 3 items bundled together at 20% off as a sneak peek for the new catty! The bundle is available for $41.48 from 12/23 through 1/31. So if you order it on 12/23, it can qualify for the free shipping promotion for a $70 order. Please contact me if you would like more information about the bundle or the free shipping promotion.
On to the card details! I started with a Close to Cocoa cardbase and stamped Sanded with Pretty in Pink craft ink. For the focal image, I stamped the big heart onto Very Vanilla with Basic Brown ink and colored it with Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red ink using a blender pen. I popped it up onto a square of Candy Lane DSP on a Pink Pirouette mat. I added a scalloped border of Candy Lane DSP at the bottom and tied some Pink Pirouette striped grosgrain ribbon around it. The scalloped circle is another Love You Much stamp punched out with the scalloped circle punch. (This set works with TWO punches! Yay!) I added a Close to Cocoa circle on top and then an oval label holder with the sentiment from the stamp set. (I got this great layering idea from Mary Fish's blog, Stampin' Pretty.)
Supplies (all SU): Stamps: Love You Much, Sanded; Paper: Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red textured, Candy Lane DSP; Ink: Basic Brown, Pretty in Pink craft; Accessories: scallop border punch, scallop circle punch, small oval punch, 1" circle punch, Pink Pirouette striped grosgrain ribbon, Styled Silver HPH
P.S. I can show this now because SU just changed their policy on promotions. Previously, we were not allowed to advertise or show images from promotions until they were available to the public. As of today, we are able to publicize them in advance.
