More SAB!

Here is the card I made for this week's Workshop Wow challenge. I challenged my fellow demonstrators to find new ways to use ribbon. This card is actually similar to the birthday card I made for Shirley back in January. I changed the sentiment, the punched image and the way I tied the ribbon. The So Saffron ribbon is frayed or fringed just by pulling on one end and unraveling it. TIP: I slid the So Saffron ribbon underneath the Certainly Celery ribbon BEFORE I unraveled it so I wouldn't have to try to slide all those little strands under there.
We also made this card at Wednesday's workshop, and I let them choose which ribbon technique to use; they all chose to tie the 2 colors of ribbon together--no fringing.
Happy stamping!

Happy Birthday, Shirley!

Monday was my mother-in-law's birthday. Shirley's favorite color is blue, so I try to use it for her whenever I can. I just got my Sale-a-bration preorder, and SU is offering some gorgeous free stuff this year! Besides the great stamp sets, there is also Designer Series paper AND ribbon, both of which I used on the card. The SAB stamp set that I used is called Polka Dot Punches, and the stamps all coordinate with our punches. Whoohoo! After I put the card together, I thought it looked a little plain, so I added the stamped circles on the cardfront. Much better!
Supplies (all SU): Stamps: Celebrate Everything, Polka Dot Punches, Seeing Spots; Paper: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Sahara Sand, Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Delicate Dots DSP; Ink: Bashful Blue, So Saffron; Accessories: pewter Build-a-Brad, 5 petal flower punch, 1/2" circle punch, cutter kit, Certainly Celery polytwill ribbon, So Saffron 5/8" grosgrain ribbon
Happy stamping!
