WICKED kite

This month's WICKED challenge for demonstrators on SCS has a summertheme. Sharonstamps gave us 3 great challenges, one of which was to create a kite card. Here are her directions for making the kite: To make a kite, cut a 3 1/2" square. Place one corner in the channel of your paper trimmer, and the adjacent corner at 1"... cut! Flip it over, repeat.. you have a great kite! I wanted a slightly smaller kite, so my Pumpkin Pie piece started as a 3" square. The whisper white piece was 2 3/4" square. I will also admit that the first piece I cut ended up a parallelogram; not sure how to work that into a card!
I kept the rest of the card simple. I used the big swirl from Priceless to imitate the wind blowing, and the tail of the kite is Crushed Curry ribbon with Pumpin Pie pieces tied on.

WICKED sketch

Another exciting thing that's happening today is that we announce the WICKED stamper for July on SCS. I am lucky enough to be the one who gets to ask the person to be WICKED and then receive their challenges and samples and post them. So I get a sneak peek! This month, I cheated and used the sketch in advance because it was perfect for what I wanted to do. I stamped the truck and hearts on watercolor paper and then colored the image with a combination of ink and watercolor crayons. (TIP: Rub-ons don't work well on colored watercolor paper. I couldn't get it to stick at all, so I gave up and used the colored cardstock and punch instead.)
Supplies (all SU): Stamps: Loads of Love, Loads of Love Accessories, Sanded; Paper: watercolor paper, Soft Suede, Kraft, Ruby Red, To the Nines DSP; Ink: Black StazOn, Always Artichoke, Ruby Red, Soft Suede; Accessories: watercolor wonder crayons, aquapainter, Chit Chat rubons, modern label punch, ticket corner punch, twill tape
If you're an SU demo, check out the WICKED forum!

WICKED sketch card

I made this card using the sketch from this month's WICKED stamper, Emma Fawkes. It's a pretty simple card. I made my card a 4 1/4" square, and the base is Very Vanilla. The diagonal pieces are from To the Nines specialty DSP. It's textured and cardstock weight! I cut a 3 3/4" square, cut it on the diagonals, and flipped 2 of the pieces. The flower is from the Pretties kit. I got that great color on it by using craft ink; that's a tip I picked up from Regional. I added a chocolate chip corduroy button brad to the center of the flower and adhered it with a pop-up glue dot.

Some WICKED scrapbooking

Don't faint, but I actually made a scrapbook page. This is a 6X6 page using the layout from this month's WICKED challenge. I thought it was perfect for a photo of Daniel's graduation. There's no stamping on this page. I used Daniel's name card from his invitation and a computer font to print out Class of 2008. I used the scallop square punch for all of the squares. The big mat is made from layered scallop squares. (Thanks, Pauline, for lending me your punch!) The base of the page is Riding Hood Red textured cardstock, and some Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon adds the final touch,
