Frosted Window

This week's workshop wow challenge is the frosted window technique. It uses a deeply colored image topped by a lighter image on vellum. For the cardbase, I used Sahara Sand and topped it with a Garden Green piece that I embossed using Rhonda's cuttlebug. Thanks Rhonda!
Here are my 2 images.
Supplies (all SU): Stamps: Le Jardin Botanique, Woodgrain; Paper: Whisper White, vellum cs, Soft Suede, Sahara Sand, Garden Green; Ink: Jet Black StazOn, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, Riding Hood Red, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip; Accessories: Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon, blender pen, scallop trim border punch, big shot, finial press embossing folder
Happy stamping!

Mourning the In Colors

I can't believe that the In Colors will soon be gone, but I'm trying to use up all of my stuff before it retires. I will really miss Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss!
The layout is Jenn Balcer's weekend sketch challenge from May 1st. I thought it was perfect to use the dotted vellum from Taste of Textiles. I just love the way the layers go all the way up to the fold in the card. You'll see that again on the card I'll be posting on Friday.
Supplies (all SU): Stamps: Le Jardin Botanique; Paper: Confetti White, Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Taste of Textiles, Urban Garden DSP; Ink: Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Not Quite Navy; Accessories: aquapainter, Valet ribbon originals, sponge

Le Jardin Botanique swap card

I signed up for Kim's new catalog swap. I wasn't going to do one, but Kim's are always awesome! I signed up for Le Jardin Botanique, which is one of my favorite new stamp sets. I started planning this card a month ago but didn't get it done before my trip to CA. Friday night was craft night at church, and I got them done! I was so happy with how they came out that I decided we will do this at Pauline's workshop Wednesday night. The only difference is that we will use textured cardstock for the cardbase so we won't stamp a background on it.
The flower is stamped with Basic Brown ink onto Confetti White cardstock and then colored with ink and a blender pen. I cut the Urban Oasis DSP 1/4" wider, punched one end with the scallop border punch and then scored it at 3/4". I adhered the flower image so it just fit under the "awning" I created and then tore the other end to finish the mat. A piece of the new white organdy ribbon finishes it off. This ribbon ties beautifully but still holds its shape.
The Kiwi Kiss cardbase is stamped with the Sanded background in Kiwi Kiss ink and then with the sentiment in Basic Brown down in the bottom corner.
Supplies (all SU): Stamps: Le Jardin Botanique, Sanded; Paper: Confetti White, Kiwi Kiss, Urban Oasis DSP; Ink: Basic Brown, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss; Accessories: scallop border punch, white organdy ribbon

New stuff!

First of all, let me say that I am loving the new catalog, especially the accessories! I got an order already. (Don't worry, Mama, I was good! This was my one tiny treat from my tax refund.) This card features 2 new stamp sets (1 from the new catty and 1 from SAB) and 2 new accessories.
The focal image is from Le Jardin Botanique. I stamped it in Chocolate Chip craft ink onto kraft cardstock, embossed with clear EP, and colored it with Kiwi Kiss ink and an aquapainter. The DSP is Urban Oasis, and the scalloped piece is from the new Accents and Elements, Canvas Cuts. The canvas is die-cut. (The Fashion District rub-ons coordinate with the Canvas Cuts. Come back on Wednesday to see that!) The sentiment is from a new SAB set, Congratulations.
How did I make the scallop square mat? It's 4 punched scallop squares overlapping. (Sorry for the blurry photo!)
Supplies (all SU): Stamps: Le Jardin Botanique, Congratulations; Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip textured, Urban Oasis DSP; Ink: Chocolate Chip classic and craft, Kiwi Kiss; Accessories: 1 3/8" square punch, scallop square punch, Canvas Cuts, Chocolate Chip narrow grosgrain ribbon, clear EP, aquapainter
