Chalkboard technique

Today's card features a fun technique called chalkboard.  For this technique, you start with very dark cardstock (black or I've used Night of Navy).  Stamp your image with whisper white craft ink and then dab chalk onto the image, covering it completely.  You can gently wipe away excess and use your chalk eraser to clean up any residue.  TIP: A pencil eraser also works if you're not able to find your chalk eraser!
My color combo is Rose Red, Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery.  This is a flashback to Cutie Pie DSP, which was one of my favorites a few years ago.
This is a clean and simple card for sure, but I'm really happy with it!
Note: I thought I had this scheduled to post this morning, but it didn't.  Sorry for the delay!
Supplies (all SU): Stamps: Circle Circus, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Paper: Bashful Blue, Night of Navy; Ink: Whisper White craft, Night of Navy; Accessories: Certainly Celery satin ribbon, chalks, circle punches (1", 1 1/4", 1 3/4", scallop)

Monochromatic Christmas tree

I got the idea for this card from Donna's blog. She is so clever! I decided to use it for this week's demonstratable card challenge. The challenge I gave was to use 1 stamp set, 1 sentiment set, 1 color (plus white), 1 punch and 1 accessory. I think it turned out really well!
Supplies (all SU): Stamps: Circle Circus; Paper: Whisper White, Real Red; Ink: Real Red; Accessories: 3/4" circle punch, Mistletoe Ribbon Originals

WICKED kite

This month's WICKED challenge for demonstrators on SCS has a summertheme. Sharonstamps gave us 3 great challenges, one of which was to create a kite card. Here are her directions for making the kite: To make a kite, cut a 3 1/2" square. Place one corner in the channel of your paper trimmer, and the adjacent corner at 1"... cut! Flip it over, repeat.. you have a great kite! I wanted a slightly smaller kite, so my Pumpkin Pie piece started as a 3" square. The whisper white piece was 2 3/4" square. I will also admit that the first piece I cut ended up a parallelogram; not sure how to work that into a card!
I kept the rest of the card simple. I used the big swirl from Priceless to imitate the wind blowing, and the tail of the kite is Crushed Curry ribbon with Pumpin Pie pieces tied on.

Beate's weekend sketch and some more DSP

Beate had a sketch posted that I thought would be perfect for using more of my new Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. What is it about using new stuff that is so appealing?
I think I ended up using a 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 piece of DSP. I adhered it to a piece of Rich Razzleberry textured cardstock and added a scallop border to mimic the Razzleberry scallop in the DSP. I used Pumpkin Pie for the card base and stamped a circle from Circle Circus so that there would be some stamping somewhere on the card!
I colored the flower using ink and an aquapainter. I was not very happy with it because the Melon Mambo ink spread much further down on the petals than I wanted. Next time, I'll put the lightest color on the outside edge and work my way in. For the center of the flower, I used a brad from the Hodgepodge Hardware inside a jumbo grommet. I put the brad inside the grommet then pressed the grommet prongs in around the back of the brad to keep the grommet in place.
For the 2 strips in the sketch, I used Crushed Curry grosgrain ribbon and a strip of Melon Mambo textured cardstock. The ribbon is 1/2" so I cut the strip 3/8".
Supplies (all SU): Stamps: Circle Circus; Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry textured, Melon Mambo textured, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP; Ink: Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie; Accessories: scallop border punch, Chit Chat rubons, Pretties kit, aquapainter, Styled Silver HPH, jumbo grommets, Crushed Curry grosgrain ribbon

One Layer Card

I wanted to use some of my new stuff, so I decided to make a one layer card using my new Circle Circus stamp set. I got the color combo from SU's new In Color Combo chart; it's Crushed Curry, Going Gray and Basic Gray. I also did a bit of masking. I decided I'll add a sentiment later once I decide what I want to use the card for.

New stuff!!!!

I got my new stuff today as well as my new catalog! I got all of the new In Colors (ink and cardstock--both regular and textured), polka dot grosgrain ribbon in Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry, the new modern label punch, and 2 stamp sets (Circle Circus and Teeny Tiny Phrases). I got Teeny Tiny Phrases for free based on my SAB sales; it has 24 phrases for virtually every occasion sized to fit the word window and modern label punches. Circle Circus has 10 patterned stamps made to fit in the various circle punches. Even though the sets are die-cut, it still took a while to get them all mounted. I just had to make something, so I decided to keep it simple. I chose my favorite In Color, Rich Razzleberry (no surprise there) and the one I think Mama will like the best: Bermuda Bay. I have to say that it makes me think of Miami Vice though, LOL.
Supplies (all NEW SU): Stamps: Circle Circus, Teeny Tiny Phrases; Paper: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay; Ink: Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry; Accessories: Rich Razzleberry dotted grosgrain ribbon, modern label punch, sponge
