Krissy's grad card

Our youngest graduated from high school!  Here is the grad card I made for Krissy.  It's from the June issue of Stampin' Success.  They gave us a template, but according to the measurements they gave, the top part is a diamond that is 6 5/8 across by 4 3/8 top to bottom.  This creates 4" sides.  The base is actually a pocket that holds a gift card or money.  It's 4 1/2" at the bottom, 3" at the top, and 2 1/2" tall.  I cut a trapezoid and then rounded the bottom corners with a circle punch.  The front piece of the pocket is embossed with the Big Shot and Stripes embossing folder.
I hope you can see the glittery edges!  I punched silver glitter paper with the ribbon punch.  I cut the strip in half and glued them to the edges.  I did the same with the sentiment.  The tassel is white bakers twine.  The small brad to the left of the sentiment attaches the top to the base and makes the top swivel to reveal the gift in the pocket.

Flip-flop card

I saw this card demonstrated at the Milwaukee Regional by Cristy Butzen.  It's so cool in person!  This photo is the card when it's folded closed.  You pull on the left side, and the center part flips around.
The card base measures 4 1/4 X 7 1/2.  The score lines are at 2 3/4 and 3 3/4.  Center the framelit on the first score line.  Line up the cutting pads on the 2nd score line covering the entire right side of the card and run it through the Big Shot.  Move the cutting pads so they line up with the first score line and cover the left side of the card.  This leaves the area between the 2 score lines uncut which provides the pivot for the card.

This is the inside of the card.  It also shows the cut area in relation to the score lines.
I stamped the image from Apothecary Art onto watercolor paper then watercolored it with Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit, Primrose Petals and Pink Pirouette.

Seth's birthday card

Whenever someone on my team has a birthday, I make them a card.  Last Friday was Seth's birthday.  He's a young, cool guy, so I thought I'd make him a funky card.  I used the new Summer Smooches DSP on a Daffodil Delight card base.  (I pulled all of the colors from the DSP!)  I stamped the image from the just retired Take a Spin in Island Indigo ink.  I adhered it to a Rich Razzleberry base and colored in the images.  I added the spinner, and it was done!

Flirtatious card and envelope

Here's one last card with matching envelope.  For this one, I used Flirtatious DSP for the envelope as well as 2 layers on the Daffodil Delight cardbase.  I added a band of Wisteria Wonder ribbon topped with a Flirtatious doily.  The stamped image is from Apothecary Art and cut out with the labels framelits and Big Shot.  Thanks, Rhonda, for letting borrow Apothecary Art!

More old and new

Rhonda and I had fun at craft night on Friday!  Unfortunately, Pauline had to work late; at least she had dinner with us.
I started with an envelope I'd already made from Twitterpated DSP.  I'm so happy that it's in the new catalog!  I took an extra piece of DSP, cut it down to 5 1/4 X 4 then embossed it with the Big Shot and sanded it.  I inked up the Heartfelt stamp from Layered Labels with Baja Breeze and cut it out with the Apothecary Accents framelit.  I stamped Happy Birthday from Perfect Punches in Riding Hood Red then punched it out with the wide oval punch.  I didn't want a rim of white around the edge, so I trimmed that by hand.

Here's my new name stamp!  Ray has been telling me I need one for quite a while, and I finally gave in.  I love it!

Combining old and new

I'm trying to be better about using all of the things I have, and I have a lot of DSP!  At our last craft night, Rhonda and I discovered that we could use most of a sheet of DSP to make a standard A2 envelope and still have enough left to decorate a coordinating card.  (Thank you, Jackie Topa, for your wonderful sheet with measurements for making lots of sizes of envelopes!)
This card and envelope uses the DSP from SAB.  It's so pretty!  The card base is Crumb Cake.  The two stamped images are new!  They are from a new set called Layered Labels.  It has 4 stamps in it, and there is a set of Framelits to go with it.  I stamped the Create label in Soft Suede and cut it out with the Framelit.  I used a 1" circle of DSP over the word because I didn't want the card to say Create.  I topped the circle with a new wooden button.  The button is tied with Pool Party bakers twine sponged with Crumb Cake.  The ribbon is Lucky Limeade ribbon from SAB wrapped 3 times.  The sentiment is also from Layered Labels, but I punched it out with the scallop oval punch instead of using the bigger Framelit.

Wow, I can't believe how long it's been since I posted!  I've been home a week, and it's tough to get back into my routines.  Here's the card I made for Ray for his birthday.  It's pretty simple, but I've gotta start somewhere!  The card base is Pool Party.  The lighthouse image from Uncharted Territory is stamped in bleach onto Island Indigo cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment in Island Indigo and added some Island Indigo baker's twine.
