Birch ribbon!

My favorite product in the Holiday Catalog is the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit.  I'm not planning any table settings; I'm going to use it to make cards!  This card includes 3 products from the kit: the birch paper ribbon, the leaf, and the twine in the button.
The cardbase is Wild Wasabi.  I embossed the front with the Pretty Print EF.  The birch paper ribbon is 5" wide, so I cut a 4 1/4" piece and cut a 2" strip of it for the card front.  I stamped the oak tree from Lovely as a Tree onto Whisper White after coloring the stamp with Wild Wasabi and Early Espresso.  I sponged Crushed Curry around the edges to tie in the leaf color.  I added a Naturals Designer Button with a twine bow.

Simply pressed clay!

This is the card we made at my workshop last week.  The cardbase is Daffodil Delight with 2 strips of Gingham Garden washi tape at the bottom.  There's a doily in the upper left corner.  The flower and leaves are from Secret Garden.  The flower is stamped in Melon Mambo, and we used an aquapainter to draw the color from the outline into the flower petals.  The flower center is made with the new simply pressed clay and flower mold.  You press the clay into the mold, pop it out, and let it dry.  Then we sponged it with Daffodil Delight ink.

ARRRR!

I just got the new Witches Brew washi tape, and it ROCKS!  This may be one of my favorite cards ever.  It's just a white notecard with the washi tape placed on the diagonal over and over with the ARRRR! sentiment from Beware Pirates.  You could use the same design but have a totally different look by using a different washi tape and sentiment.

Butterfly birthday card

This birthday card is for a coworker who loves purple like I do.  I was reading a thread on SCS about cutting window sheets with a framelit and decided to give it a try.  It didn't work as well as I had hoped, but that was because I had 2 window sheets stuck together, LOL!  Thankfully, there was a good cut that I could finish with my craft and rubber scissors.
I started with a Smoky Slate cardbase, and I adhered the window sheet using dimensionals so it would add some depth to the pattern.  Ray said it looked embossed, so I guess it worked!
I used embossed butterflies in Wisteria Wonder, Smoky Slate and Elegant Eggplant to cover up the dimensionals and then added a few more random butterflies.  Random is hard!

Teenage girl birthday card

Our youngest just turned 19.  Making cards for teenagers can be tough!  Ray requested pink for the color.  I decided to start with Strawberry Slush, and I covered it with washi tape.  I started with a 3" square, moving the tape to form a pattern from the stripes.  Then I punched out the flower.  Since the stripes on the washi tape were gray, I decided to use Smoky Slate as my cardbase and mat for the flower.  I added a Pink Pirouette layer embossed with stripes.  The flower center is a faceted button with a bakers twine bow.  I added Basic Gray faux stitching and a punched sentiment tag.

Using some new colors

I wanted to create a masculine card, and I wanted to use some new colors.  I decided that Coastal Cabana would be good for water, so I pulled out my retired Uncharted Territory stamp set.
I found these awesome Post-It notes that are sticky all over the back instead of just at the top, and they are great for stamping a mask.  I put the mask over the sailboat, the sailor, and the sun before sponging on Coastal Cabana and Soft Sky ink.  I added some Island Indigo to the water as well.  I colored the sailboat Basic Gray and added some color highlights to the sail.
A Basic Gray mat makes the image pop against the Coastal Cabana cardbase.
