Retirement card

My brother-in-law is retiring on April 1, so I made him this card.  I have had the stamp set for a long time because it has purple rubber!  That means it was either a hostess set or a SAB set.
The card base is Marina Mist, and the DSP is Print Poetry from the spring catalog.  I added wooden buttons and Summer Starfruit ribbon.
Happy stamping!

Nugget box

We also made this adorable nugget box at my workshop.  I got the pattern from Dawn Olchefske.  Her blog is awesome, and she is as sweet as she is talented!
We made the box from Pool Party cardstock and decorated with the Sent with Love bundle.  I punched out a little heart and added it to the stamp image for a pop of color.  We added 2 nuggets to the box and tied it with Island Indigo ribbon from SAB.
Here's the measurements for the box.
Happy stamping!

Lovely as a Tree!

I had a workshop on Thursday, and we made this card using Lovely as a Tree.  This is the oldest current stamp set, and I don't want it to retire!  Only a few more weeks until we find out for sure.
The card base is Wisteria Wonder, which I will miss greatly!  On top of that is Natural Composition DSP.  Like my previous card, I sponged it with white craft ink to enhance the pattern.  It makes me think of birch!  We colored the tree with Lucky Limeade and Early Espresso.  After stamping, we added wisteria dots to look like blossoms.
Happy stamping!

Natural Composition specialty DSP!

I just got the Natural Composition specialty DSP!  Why oh why did I wait so long?  This stuff is amazing!  It's a kraft colored paper with embossed images.  It's so pretty on its own, but you can jazz it up even more!  For this card, I used a Wisteria Wonder cardbase and cut a 4 X 5 1/4 piece of DSP.  I sponged the whole thing with white craft ink and then buffed it with a tissue to remove the ink from the embossed areas.  (This lightens up the paper a bit and makes the embossing stand out more.)  Then I used an aquapainter and ink to lightly color in some of the flowers and leaves.  I tied on some Wisteria Wonder ribbon and added a flower from the flower trim in the spring catalog.  I used my heat gun to shrink it down a little, and then I rubbed the edges with a little Wisteria Wonder ink.
Happy stamping!
