Here's a sneak peek of new Occasions catalog products! My preorder just came today,  and I couldn't wait to play and share!
The stamp is called Love is Kindness. I stamped it with Memento ink then colored it with Blendabilities: Pink Pirouette, Wild Wasabi and Smoky Slate. The Wild Wasabi twine is also new.

Serene Silhouettes flower card

I can't believe I forgot to post this card that we made at my October workshop!  The cardbase and ribbon are Lost Lagoon.  We stamped the circle image from Serene Silhouettes in Lost Lagoon onto Soft Sky and punched it out.  The scallop circle is from All is Calm DSP.  We punched Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper with the confetti stars border punch and adhered it to Soft Sky cardstock.  The stars were glued onto the card as well.  We each added a custom sentiment using the alphabet rotary stamp.

Masculine Big News birthday card

I needed a birthday card for a male co-worker, and masculine cards are tricky!  I found the striped DSP in the All Abloom paper stack and adhered it to a Soft Sky card base.  I stamped the sentiment from Big News in Island Indigo onto Whisper White.  I added the candle as an exclamation point and colored in the flame with Daffodil Delight.  The mat is Basic Black.  I stamped the Woohoo pennant in Island Indigo onto Soft Sky and cut it out by hand.  The sentiment inside the card says Enjoy the fuss!

Mama's Amazing Birthday card

Mama's favorite color is teal, so Island Indigo is perfect for making her birthday card.  The DSP is from the All Abloom paper stack.  The sentiment is from Amazing Birthday and cut out with the pennants framelits.  I added Dazzling Details to all of the flower centers to add a little bling to the card.

Baby shower card

This baby card is for a friend who is having a girl.  I started with the All Abloom DSP stack.  I adhered it to a Pink Pirouette card base.  The flower from Flower Shop is stamped with Mossy Meadow and colored with Daffodil Delight Blendabilities.  The flower center is from the retired set Ciao Baby and is stamped with Mossy Meadow onto Pistachio Pudding.  I cut it out with the smallest circle framelit.  White ribbon and a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes complete the card.

Christmas card!

Here's my first Christmas card of the year!  Believe it or not, I made it using the October paper pumpkin kit, Sweet as Pie.  I cut up one of the pie boxes to make the tree.  I cut off 1/2" from the bottom to make it fit on the card.  The box already had the dots on it, so I just added some glimmer paper stars punched with the Confetti Stars punch.   The star is stamped with the Bright and Beautiful stamp set and cut out with the Stars framelits.  The sentiment is also from Bright and Beautiful.  I punched it with the banner punch and trimmed down the sides.  The cardbase is Crumb Cake with an Old Olive layer embossed with the dots embossing folder.

Wisteria Blendabilities

I created this card from leftovers on my craft table.  The cardbase is Smoky Slate, and I sponged diagonal stripes in Wisteria Wonder using the new decorative masks.
The tag is Whisper White, punched with the scalloped tag punch.  I added All is Calm washi tape, Wisteria Wonder seam binding ribbon and a sentiment from Good Greetings.
The pansy from Flower Shop is colored with the Wisteria Wonder Blendabilities.  I added highlights with the color lifter and Dazzling Details then punched with the pansy punch.

Calling All Heroes birthday card

Boy did I struggle with this card!  I wanted to make my son Daniel's birthday card using this set because we both love comics and superheroes.  I found a few cards on Pinterest that I liked.  I tried CASEing one of them, and I just could not make those rows of dots line up!  I finally broke out my stampamajig which I have not used in forever!  I ended up combining elements of 2 different cards to make this one.  You can see them on my Stampin' Up inspiration Pinterest page.
The cardbase is Basic Black.  I wrote inside using the chalk marker, but you could add a whisper white layer to the inside.  The top layer is 5 X 3 3/4 whisper white.  I stamped the dots in Daffodil Delight using the stampamajig.  I stamped the cityscape twice on another piece of cardstock and cut them out.  I stamped the shapes on a separate piece of cardstock, added the words and cut those out too.  I stamped the face and punched it out with the 1 3/8" circle punch then added a black 1 3/4" circle.

Gift boxes made with the gift box punch board

I love the new gift box punch board!  It makes 16 different box sizes (4 different width/depths, 4 different heights).  The crumb cake box at the back of the photo is the largest box, which is 4 X 4 X 4.  The smallest box is 1.75 X 1.75 X 1.75.
We made the left box at my workshop last week. We added a 1" belly band made with All is Calm DSP.  The star from Bright and Beautiful is stamped onto Whisper White and punched out with the 1 3/8" circle punch.  A snowflake from the frosted sequins is adhered to the center.

Slanted newsprint with Flower Patch

I found a wonderful tutorial for slanting the pattern in the Newsprint DSP.  It is from Lyssa Zwolanek, and you can see it here.  We made the card on the left at my workshop last week.  It uses the Flower Patch stamp set, and you stamp right onto the DSP.  So quick and easy.
Funny story about the card.  I originally made the card on the right thinking that the ribbon I had was Mossy Meadow.  Wrong!  It was Lost Lagoon, so I had to cut new bases.  I decided to make one more using Pink Pirouette and Rich Razzleberry.  I colored the pearl with the lightest RR Blendabilities marker.
The DSP is cut at 3 X 4 1/4 with the black mat cut at 3 1/4 X 4 1/2. For the sentiment on the coral and soft sky cards, I cut a piece of cardstock 1/2" wide.  We stamped on the left end and then used the banner punch to make the flagged end.

Wish you were here Paper Pumpkin card

Today, I was talking about the July Paper Pumpkin kit with my friend Kristy.  We both love this kit!  I wanted to figure out something I could do with the boxes to include them on the cards.  I cut the box apart on the score lines and grabbed a bunch of my Big Shot dies to see what I could cut.  There were actually quite a few!
The shape on the card above is from the Apothecary Accents framelits. I put one of the star stickers on top and added a star accent.  Then I added solid stars on each side.

Coloring with Blendabilities

You may be looking at this card and wondering how in the world I made it.  The answer is I used the amazing Blendabilities.  The beauty of alcohol markers is that you can color on non-porous surfaces and it will dry on them permanently! Use them on embossed images, buttons, etc.
I stamped the skyline image from Calling All Heroes onto Tempting Turquoise cardstock using VersaMark and embossed it with white embossing powder.  Then I used all 3 shades of Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities to color the skyline.
My goal was to make it look as though the buildings were being lit by the setting sun, and I think I succeeded!
For the cardbase, I ran it through the Big Shot and the houndstooth embossing folder.  I added a Pumpkin Pie mat that I pierced and used the white gel pen to create faux stitching.

July Paper Pumpkin card

Here's a card I made using the July Paper Pumpkin kit.  This kit came with 6 cards plus 6 Blackberry Bliss striped gift boxes.  The stamps are really cute, and the ink spot is Blackberry Bliss.  It came with Soft Sky stickers that spell out wish as well as hearts and starts.  There are also a whole sheet of silver stars.  The suggested design just uses the outline star shape, but there are the punched out stars as well.
For this card, I stamped the sentiment on one of the star stickers.  I put the striped sticker along the folded edge of the card and tied the star on with white bakers twine.  I adhered the star sticker then added more random silver stars.

Bazinga! with Calling All Heroes

I am a huge fan of the Big Bang Theory TV show.  If you are too, you will love this card.  If you're not, this card makes no sense.
I made this card using the Calling All Heroes photopolymer set.  I fell in love with this set when I saw it, and I'm not sure why.  Maybe it's because I have long loved comics and superheroes.  I'm not sure what all I will do with this set, but I know I will love each and every thing I make with it!
I got the idea for this card from my SCS friend Amy Downing.  She is one of many friends I have that I will probably never meet, and it's all thanks to stamping and the internet.
The cardbase is Daffodil Delight.  I stamped the lightning bolt image multiple times with Memento ink.  The main image uses one of the "Pow" shapes.  I'm not sure what they are really called, but they are the shapes that the comics used for Pow and Bam!  I colored in the shape with the Cherry Cobbler blendabilities.
For the letters, I stamped them in VersaMark then embossed them with white embossing powder.  I outlined the letters with the 05 Project Life journaling pen and colored them in with Daffodil Delight blendabilities.  I added Basic Black and Cherry Cobbler mats.

June Paper Pumpkin

At tonight's workshop, we are making these smores kits using the June Paper Pumpkin kit.  The kit came with supplies to make 24 pinwheels.  It also came with cello bags, bakers twine and mini paper clips.  The banners you see on the sticks also came with the kit along with 3 stamps and Night of Navy ink.  Even the glue dots were included!
I got the idea to make a little smores kit to tie to the pinwheel.  Inside the cello bag is 2 graham crackers, 2 Ghiardeli minis and 2 Peeps minis.  Yum!
