Sent with Love

Today's card uses the new Sent with Love stamp set and DSP.  It's available through April!  The layout was inspired by my friend Rhonda.  She made cards similar to this at craft night.  The cardbase is Whisper White, 8 X 5 1/4 and scored at 4.  It's attached to a 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 piece of Calypso Coral.  The strips of DSP are 1 3/16 X 3 1/2 adhered to a 5 X 3 3/4 piece of Real Red.  I tied Pool Party (SAB) around the DSP and Real Red.  The airplane is inked in Real Red and Pool Party on a 1 inch wide piece of Whisper White.  I used the 1 1/4 square punch to cut the tails on each end.  The sentiment is inked in Island Indigo, Real Red and Calypso Coral then punched with the Curly Label punch,

Twin birthday cards

I made these twin birthday cards for my twin sisters-in-law.  I was inspired by the Mixability challenges on SCS.  These are mixed media challenges.  While that sounds intimidating, the challenges seem pretty straightforward so far.  The challenge a couple of weeks ago was to create a card using emboss resist.  I can do that!
The cardbases I used are Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party.  The doily stamp was stamped with white craft ink and heat embossed with white EP.  I sponged Rich Razzleberry and Island Indigo onto the center of each doily respectively.  After the ink had a chance to dry a bit, I wiped off the images with a paper towel to remove excess ink from the embossed areas.
I added ribbon to each card, punching a slot with the retired slot punch.  The sentiments are from Itty Bitty Banners and cut out with the Bitty Banners framelits.  They are tied to the bow with some bakers twine (Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party).

Non-traditional Valentine

I made this non-traditional Valentine for our 20-year-old.  I wanted to make a card that reminded me of her.  She loves the outdoors and bright green, so I think I succeeded!  The cardbase is Lucky Limeade.  For the focal image, I stamped the trees from Serene Silhouettes in black Stazon onto glossy white cardstock.  I cut it out with the Big Shot and a framelit, sponged Daffodil Delight in the center and then sponged several layers of Lucky Limeade around the edges.  The DSP is from Summer Smooches.  I added piercing around the edges along with Lucky Limeade brads.  The final touch is Daffodil Delight taffeta ribbon.

A late Valentine

This is the valentine I made for our 18-year-old.  The DSP is Sycamore Street from SAB, and that is where I got the color combo from.  The card base is Pool Party.  The hearts are: Rich Razzleberry, Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Summer Starfruit, and Pool Party, cut with the Heart framelits.  The ribbon is Island Indigo (from SAB) layered over Summer Starfruit.  I used a few dots of Mono Multi to stick them together.  Happy stamping!

Wisteria birthday card

We made this birthday card at my last workshop.  The cardbase and ribbon are Wisteria Wonder.  I stamped the doily from Delicate Doilies at the bottom left of the card and adhered half of a paper doily in the upper right.  A strip of Twitterpated DSP covers the seams.  The sentiment is from Best of Birthdays and is punched with the wide oval punch as is the Elegant Eggplant mat.

Ghiardelli box

At my last 2 workshops, we made a box that holds 3-4 Ghiardelli chocolates.  They are easy enough to make multiples to give as little gifts.  I got the pattern from Splitcoaststampers of course, and you can find the directions here.  The pattern is also shown below.

The cardstock is 4 1/4 X 8.  Score on the short side at 1 and 3 1/4.  Score on the long side at 2, 3, 5 and 6.  Cut away the pieces with the Xs, and cut along the dotted lines.
Put sticky strip on the inside of the box on the tabs that are shown from 3" to 5" on my pattern.  Put sticky strip on the outside of the box on the 2 little tabs.  Fold up the box, and adhere the 2 little tabs to the inside of the tabs shown from 0 to 2" on my pattern.  Then adhere the 2 longer tabs on the outside to form the box.
I decorated my box simply by creating a belly band from a 1" strip of DSP.  I covered the seam with a punched piece.  The Christmas box has the ornament punched out of champagne glimmer paper.  The Valentines box has the curly label punch topped with Love( from Ciao Baby in the spring catalog) punched with the small curly label punch from the SaleABration catalog.

The new flower trim

First of all, I'm sorry about the photo!  For some reason, the flash didn't go off when I took it, and I didn't think to take another one.
I needed to make a card for someone, and I needed it to be quick.  I made a card like this a while back, and then Mama sent us a similar one for our anniversary.  I learned my lesson last time, so I used watercolor paper for the image.  I stamped the image from Serene Silhouettes in black StazOn and then used ink and the aquapainter to add the bands of color.  The colors are (top to bottom): Primrose Petals, Pretty in Pink, and Raspberry Ripple.  The cardbase is Pretty in Pink.  The sentiment is stamped in Raspberry Ripple, and the ribbon is Primrose Petals.  I cut one flower off the new flower trim from the spring catalog, and I colored the edges with a Pretty in Pink marker.

Non-traditional valentine

My husband loves puns, so when I saw the Oh, Whale! set in the spring catalog, I knew it had to be mine!  I started with a Marina Mist cardbase and embossed hearts on the bottom.  I stamped the sentiment in Midnight Muse then added Raspberry Ripple satin ribbon.  I stamped the whale in Midnight Muse then used the matching Clearlit to cut out the whale.  I cut out the window frame shape with the Big Shot then stamped the waves in Marina Mist and Midnight Muse.  I added the Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals hearts coming from the whale's spout then popped the whale up with dimensionals.
Happy stamping!
