Lovely as a Tree!

This is a birthday card for my brother-in-law, Paul.  Again, I used the Thankful Tablescape kit from the Holiday Catalog.  It is just perfect for masculine cards!
The cardbase is Crumb Cake.  I used the paper ribbon and orange strips from the kit.  I stamped the pinecones from Lovely as a Tree randomly on the cardbase.  The tree is Always Artichoke and Early Espresso stamped on Confetti White cardstock.  I distressed the edges and added some Soft Suede ink then popped it up with dimensionals.
I hope Lovely as a Tree never retires!  Happy stamping!

Awesome card

I recently got the Yippee Skippee stamp set, and while I was looking at it, I realized that it would be easy to combine parts of the different sentiments together.  That's what I did on this card.  It's for my awesome son, Daniel.
The cardbase is Summer Starfruit, and the DSP is Soho Subway.  I adhered the DSP to the cardbase then ran it through the Big Shot with the Alphabet Press embossing folder and sanded it lightly.
The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso and Island Indigo, cut out with a framelit, then I added Early Espresso ink to the edges.
Happy stamping!

I made this card for Mama for her birthday.  These are her favorite colors!  The cardbase is Coastal Cabana, and I used Winter Frost DSP with silver ribbon.

Fun birthday card

Here's a fun, clean and simple birthday card!  I started with a  3 1/2 X 5 card.  I stamped the splatter from Gorgeous Grunge in Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, and Pacific Point.  The sentiment from Bombs Away Birthday is stamped in white craft ink onto a premade piece from the Thankful Tablescape kit.

File folder card

This is a file folder card made with the envelope punch board.  Can you tell that I love that thing??  The card base is Pumpkin Pie, and there is a layer of Quatrefancy DSP.  I also added Daffodil Delight seam binding ribbon.  I got the directions for the file folder card from Patty Bennett's blog.

Another envelope

Ray's Christmas present isn't something I can wrap, but I have something printed out for him to open.  It's on a 8 1/2 X 11 piece of paper, so I wanted a nice big pretty envelope for it.  I use the envelope punch board to create an envelope that would hold a 4 X 8 1/2 card, which is the size of the paper after I folded it.
The tag and stamps are from the Pop & Place kit.  The quilted ribbon is retired from last year's holiday catalog.

Coastal Cabana birthday card

This Coastal Cabana card is so pretty in person!  The card base is Coastal Cabana with a layer of Winter Frost DSP.  I added Coastal Cabana ruffled ribbon and silver ribbon on top of that.  The sentiment is from the Bombs Away photopolymer set.  I surrounded it with a ring of rhinestones.

Card box

This is a card box we made at last month's workshop.  The box holds standard 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 cards.  It's made with the envelope punch board.  We added a belly band and leaf from the Thankful Tablescape kit.  The button is retired. (I got the measurements from Kim Wilson's blog.)

Another fall card

Here is another card I made using the Thankful Tablescape kit.  The bottom piece is from the holder in the kit, and the orange piece was originally a belly band.  I used the edge of my inkpad on the leaves.

A fall card

Saturday was World Card Making Day.  I celebrated by making a card!  Since I'm traveling, I have limited supplies.  Fortunately, I brought my Thankful Tablescape kit!  The cardbase is Crumb Cake, and all of the other supplies came from the kit.  The birch paper ribbon is my favorite, and I added a piece of brown paper ribbon.  I used the new rotary cutter scallop blade on the edge.  I cut a tag shape from the orange paper and crumpled the leaf for texture.

Simply Sent kit

I'm in California for work for 5 weeks, but I was able to bring some stamping supplies with me.  Creating with limited supplies is always a challenge for me; I like having my stuff!
I got one of the Simply Sent kits called On Its Way.  It has 8 cardbases with envelopes as well as stickers and arrow-shaped clips.  Here are 2 variations of the same card.

Another birthday card

Stephanie loves horses, so that made it easy to decide what to put on her birthday card!  The cardbase is Crumb Cake.  I used 2 pieces of retired DSP from the Occasions catalog. The splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge is stamped in Early Espresso.  The horse from Horse Frontier is Early Espresso and Gumball Green.  The sentiment is from A Round Array, and it is stamped in Midnight Muse onto Summer Starfruit then punched with the 7/8 scallop circle punch.

Tie-dye?

I just got a new shirt that has a tie-dye print on it.  I thought that would make a cool background for a card, so I decided to try it on Daniel's birthday card.
My shirt is gray and eggplant, but Daniel's favorite color is blue.  I decided to use Smoky Slate and Marina Mist.  To create the tie-dye pattern, I used crumpled wax paper because I thought that would hold its shape better than plastic wrap.  I like how it looks!
The skid mark from Gorgeous Grunge is stamped 3 times in Midnight Muse.  The image from Bombs Away Birthday is stamped in Whisper White on a tag from theThankful Tablescapes Simply Created kit.

I don't usually stamp on the inside, but I wanted to add the Happy Birthday bomb, and then I added the small splatters from Gorgeous Grunge in Smoky Slate.

Made on the fly!

I'm so proud of this card because I made it on the fly, and that's just not me!  I had the Daffodil Delight cardbase and the white embossed layer laying on my craft table.  I pulled the color combo from the Color Coach: Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate, and Soft Sky.
I used the Mosaic Madness stamp set and Mosaic punch along with the Designer Typeset photopolymer stamp set (for the arrow) and the sentiment is from Six-Sided Sampler.

Vintage flower card

I had multiple inspirations for this card.  I was working on Dare to Get Dirty challenges from SCS, but I didn't get them done in time. I decided to make this card in the style of Lisa Hensley, aka ponygirl40.  She has a very distinctive style and layout that she uses, and I've copied it here.
My card base is Crumb Cake.  For the dry embossed layer, I brayered crumb cake ink onto the Lacy Brocade embossing folder before I put the cardstock in it.  That added color to the debossed areas.
For the flower, I punched out 3 blossoms and 2 of the 1 1/4" scallop circles.  I wet them and crunched them up then opened them up, shaped them, and let them dry overnight.  Once they were dry, I adhered the layers together and sprayed them with vanilla shimmer mist.
Pear Pizzazz taffeta ribbon and pearls complete the card.

We blend well!

This is my newest stamp set, Crazy Mixed Up Love.  It's perfect for me because it's puns, which my husband loves.  I made this card for Ray for our 2 1/2 year anniversary; I know it's sickening, but we celebrate every month!  Anyway, we have this running joke that I am lime and he is plain, so the color combo was perfect.  I used Pear Pizzazz and Smoky Slate.  The bow is what I call my masculine bow; I cut a slit in the Smoky Slate ribbon that I fed the other end through, then I used Pear Pizzazz ribbon to tie around it and hold it in place.

Birch ribbon!

My favorite product in the Holiday Catalog is the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit.  I'm not planning any table settings; I'm going to use it to make cards!  This card includes 3 products from the kit: the birch paper ribbon, the leaf, and the twine in the button.
The cardbase is Wild Wasabi.  I embossed the front with the Pretty Print EF.  The birch paper ribbon is 5" wide, so I cut a 4 1/4" piece and cut a 2" strip of it for the card front.  I stamped the oak tree from Lovely as a Tree onto Whisper White after coloring the stamp with Wild Wasabi and Early Espresso.  I sponged Crushed Curry around the edges to tie in the leaf color.  I added a Naturals Designer Button with a twine bow.

Simply pressed clay!

This is the card we made at my workshop last week.  The cardbase is Daffodil Delight with 2 strips of Gingham Garden washi tape at the bottom.  There's a doily in the upper left corner.  The flower and leaves are from Secret Garden.  The flower is stamped in Melon Mambo, and we used an aquapainter to draw the color from the outline into the flower petals.  The flower center is made with the new simply pressed clay and flower mold.  You press the clay into the mold, pop it out, and let it dry.  Then we sponged it with Daffodil Delight ink.

ARRRR!

I just got the new Witches Brew washi tape, and it ROCKS!  This may be one of my favorite cards ever.  It's just a white notecard with the washi tape placed on the diagonal over and over with the ARRRR! sentiment from Beware Pirates.  You could use the same design but have a totally different look by using a different washi tape and sentiment.

Butterfly birthday card

This birthday card is for a coworker who loves purple like I do.  I was reading a thread on SCS about cutting window sheets with a framelit and decided to give it a try.  It didn't work as well as I had hoped, but that was because I had 2 window sheets stuck together, LOL!  Thankfully, there was a good cut that I could finish with my craft and rubber scissors.
I started with a Smoky Slate cardbase, and I adhered the window sheet using dimensionals so it would add some depth to the pattern.  Ray said it looked embossed, so I guess it worked!
I used embossed butterflies in Wisteria Wonder, Smoky Slate and Elegant Eggplant to cover up the dimensionals and then added a few more random butterflies.  Random is hard!

Teenage girl birthday card

Our youngest just turned 19.  Making cards for teenagers can be tough!  Ray requested pink for the color.  I decided to start with Strawberry Slush, and I covered it with washi tape.  I started with a 3" square, moving the tape to form a pattern from the stripes.  Then I punched out the flower.  Since the stripes on the washi tape were gray, I decided to use Smoky Slate as my cardbase and mat for the flower.  I added a Pink Pirouette layer embossed with stripes.  The flower center is a faceted button with a bakers twine bow.  I added Basic Gray faux stitching and a punched sentiment tag.

Using some new colors

I wanted to create a masculine card, and I wanted to use some new colors.  I decided that Coastal Cabana would be good for water, so I pulled out my retired Uncharted Territory stamp set.
I found these awesome Post-It notes that are sticky all over the back instead of just at the top, and they are great for stamping a mask.  I put the mask over the sailboat, the sailor, and the sun before sponging on Coastal Cabana and Soft Sky ink.  I added some Island Indigo to the water as well.  I colored the sailboat Basic Gray and added some color highlights to the sail.
A Basic Gray mat makes the image pop against the Coastal Cabana cardbase.

New Hexagon Stamps!

I got the new Six Sided Sampler stamp set and coordinating hexagon punch.  I'm loving it!  I got the idea for this card from one I saw online by Elizabeth Price using the doily, hexagons and butterflies.
I started with the new color Smoky Slate because I wanted to use the chevron ribbon I got.  I decided that Wisteria Wonder would go well with it.  I tied on the ribbon and added the doily.  On top of those, I layered hexagons stamped in Smoky Slate and Wisteria Wonder on Smoky Slate and Whisper White cardstock.
Pauline convinced me that it needed a pop of color.  After we talked about it, we decided on Elegant Eggplant.  I punched out 3 butterflies, adhered them and then added rhinestones.

CAS birthday card

This is a CAS birthday card.  So easy to make!  The cardbase is Daffodil Delight.  The hexagons were punched from Quatrefancy DSP.  I started in the lower left corner and then tried to end my pattern randomly.  That's hard for me, but I like the result!  I added the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes in the bottom corner.

One layer masculine card

I decided to make a one layer card for Ray for Father's Day using The Open Sea.  He loves this set, plus the nautical theme reminds me of my late dad. The cardbase is Crumb Cake.  The colors I used are: Baked Brown Sugar, Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry plus Early Espresso for the sentiment.
