Tag punch treat holder

We made this treat holder at my workshop last week.  We used the new Moonlight DSP paper stack, Blackberry Bliss ribbon, Petite Petals stamp set and petite flower and scalloped tag punches.

Here is the template for the treat holder.  Mine holds 3 Hershey's Miniatures, which are 1" wide.  If your candy is a different size, you can change the template by scoring first in the center and then use that as a guide to center the width of your candy.  You could also change the length.  I chose 6 1/2" because that is the size of the DSP.  The width does need to be 2" if you use the tag punch.
I used mini glue dots to keep the candy inside.  I discovered that the candy is not flat on the top, so I put the glue dot on the side edge where it is raised.  For the ribbon, I used 9".  I put the ribbon through both slots and then tied one knot with both ends together.  That way it is easy to untie without wrecking the ribbon!

Work of Art flower

We made this card at my workshop last week.  It uses the new Work of Art stamp set.  The cardbase is Smoky Slate.  It's topped with a 5 1/4 X 4 piece of Whisper White.  We created the flower by stamping one of the swooshes multiple times in Strawberry Slush.  You can see that the swoosh has a kind of V at one end that looks like flower petals.  We added a pearl in the center.  Next we stamped the chevron in Smoky Slate.  The sentiment is also stamped in Smoky Slate and punched out with the artisan punch.  The border on the punch is Strawberry Slush.  I created it using one of my favorite tricks.  I punched out a piece of Strawberry Slush with the artisan punch.  Then I cut it in half and adhered it to the back as a mat.
I did not come up with this idea!  I found it on pinterest.  It is from prettypapercards.com.  If you follow me on pinterest, you will see lots of SU stuff I pin, including the SCS Creative Crew!

New catalog sneak peek!

Here is my mom's Mother's Day card.  I used a new stamp, Blended Bloom, and the new Blendabilities.  This is my first attempt, and I think it came out pretty well! Stampin' Up has a video to show you how they work.  I got to see them used at the new catalog premiere.  Trust me, if I can do it, anyone can!

April Paper Pumpkin

The April Paper Pumpkin kit was adorable!  It came with a square frame and the pieces to make art to put in the frame.  Well, I couldn't give it to my mom for Mother's Day because she gets the Paper Pumpkin too!
I decided to use mine to make a card instead.  The main piece is exactly what was supposed to go in the frame.  I put it on a Crumb Cake cardbase then stamped the sentiment in Calypso Coral with a little paper heart popped up inside the O.

Two more Paper Pumpkin cards

I saw this card online and decided I had to make it.  Well, it was a bit more work than I anticipated.  I cut the word "you" away from the thank you, and then I separated each letter in "thank" and "congrats."  It took me a total of an hour and a half.  Way too much! I joked that no one rocks enough to deserve that!
I did end up giving the card to my new friend Meg.  We met on splitcoaststampers, and she was kind enough to invite me to hang out with her at the new catalog premiere event Monday night.  Yes, you read that correctly!  I have the new catalog, and it is full of awesome new stuff!  I can order boxes of catalogs on Thursday, and catalogs should mail to my out-of-town customers in mid-May!

Here are 2 more cards from the March Paper Pumpkin kit.  The bottom card is pretty straightforward.  I just added a strip of gold cut from the envelope liner.

Open Sea birthday card

I had this scrap of Soho Subway DSP sitting on my craft table, and I just couldn't waste it!  I stamped Off the Grid in Early Espresso onto it.  The cardbase is Sahara Sand.  I stamped the background in Island Indigo with a few spots of Early Espresso added.  Next I stamped the globe in Island Indigo.  I was too lazy to cut it out by hand, so I used a Circle framelit then sponged the edge with Early Espresso.  The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners.  I'm not sure if you can see it in the picture, but I added some paper piercing to the upper right corner

March Paper Pumpkin

Here's my take on the March Paper Pumpkin cards.  I got ideas from a couple of other places.  I saw where someone had inked the wood greetings, and I knew I needed to do that!  On Shelli Gardner's blog, she had used the gold envelope liners as a DSP, and I did that as well.  The next thing I want to do is cut apart the letters to make new words.  Such a fun kit!  I can't wait to see what I get in the mail this month!
